Kristen Anne Bell is an American actress and performer born in the year 1980. She was born and raised in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is the daughter of Lorelei (Frygier), an RN, and Tom Bell, a television news director. Kristen is from Polish descent (mother), and German, English and Scottish (father). Kristen's talents for performing were found at a young age. In 1992 she won her first role at the auditions for Raggedy Ann & Andy. Bell was appointed by her mom as an agent when she was 13 years old. Bell was later cast for newspaper ads and TV commercials. Also, Bell began taking private acting classes. Bell had a minor role, uncredited for her part in Polish Wedding (1998), in 1998. Bell was a student at Shrine Catholic High School and was a member of the music club and the drama club. The Wizard of Oz production at the high school she attended earned her the role of the lead Dorothy role. Bell was a student at The Tisch School of the Arts in New York City, where she studied Musical Theatre at the Tisch School of the Arts in New York City. Bell quit college in 2001 when she took the role of Becky in the film Tom Sawyer. Bell made her debut film credit with Pootie Tang in 2001. Her scene, however it was cut and her only appearance is in the final credits. Bell appeared in Broadway in The Crucible, a revival which featured Liam Neeson with Angela Bettis.
