Catherine Ford is a British actress born in Bloomsbury. When her father's divorce from the family members, she was grew up by her mother grandparents, and godparents. When she was a young girl, she battled an obsessive-compulsive disorder and suffered anxiety linked to word associations. Ford was intrigued by the profession of acting in her teenage years and she was a part of the National Youth Theatre. Ford gained entry to the Sylvia Young Theatre School, however, she decided after one week that she wasn't a good for the school. Ford instead applied to the Central School of Speech and Drama and was able to secure the position on her 4th application. Shaun Dingwall played Pete Tyler in Doctor Who. Ford was graduated in 1993, but, by that time she was already making her television debut in an episode from 1991 from Surgical Spirit; she adopted her professional title "Catherine Tate". Tate was a part of such television shows like The Bill, Men Behaving Badly as well as London Burning. She also worked regularly in theatres, before eventually becoming a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company for its 2000-2001 season. Tate received recognition for her comedy stand-up and has been added to her repertoire in the year 1996.
