Awkwafina
Awkwafina, an American actor and singer, began with a series of rap songs dealing with issues related to race and sexuality. Her career expanded to Hollywood after she released several rap songs. Born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants from Forest Hills Queens her first taste of musician life came in the form of the trumpet. Later, she began the classical and hip-hop genres. While at school, she majored in journalism and women's studies in college even learning Mandarin in Beijing during a brief time. It wasn't until after graduating that she turned her attention towards music. After becoming famous via the Internet the song My Vag was a reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually made its way onto the album she released, Yellow Ranger. On the album, there was other hits that went viral, including Queef (body-positive) as well as NYC Bitche$1. The track that was published is directly linked to the album The Awkwafinas Guide to NYC, her guide to travel in 2015. A musician and author was in her portfolio, she decided to determined to pursue an actor for a third venture. Alongside early shows such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films such as Neighbors and Storks. In 2018 she landed breakthrough roles in a handful of high-profile films like Dude Ocean's Eight and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP debuted in June.
